Organic Bay Leaves

Organic Bay Leaves

You will appreciate our bay leaves for their delicate yet distinctive aroma, with slightly bitter, floral undertones that infuse dishes with a rich, complex depth of flavor. Sourced from the finest bay leaf trees, these handpicked leaves are carefully dried to retain their natural essence, ensuring that every simmering pot of soup, curry, or stew is enhanced with a warm, subtly spiced fragrance. A little leaf with a lot to give!

Ā

Spice Basket Bay Leaves are fragrant whole spices used to impart warm, earthy and somewhat flowery taste to everyday cooking. This spice is also known as Bay Leave and is used often in Indian, Kerala-style and worldwide cooking to add flavor to curries, biryanis, soups, stews, rice dishes and gravies.

If you are looking for bay leaves in Malayalam, it is often known as karuvayila. In North Indian cookery, bay leaves are called tej patta. The English is tej patta, bay leaf.

Spice Basket Bay Leaves are great for slow cooked and tempering recipes since they release their natural scent slowly when cooking. Just one or two leaves will be enough to give depth and aroma to chicken curry, beef curry, vegetable pulao, biryani, dal, kurma and homemade masala.

Whole bay leaves go well with cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, pepper, cumin, fennel, star anise and nutmeg, making them a key component of traditional spice mixes. They mix spicy flavors with foods that have a cozy, deep scent.

Spice Basket Bay Leaves are meticulously picked and stored to maintain freshness and aroma. They impart authentic flavor and traditional deliciousness to each dish.
